NBA 2012-13 Season Predictions

Here are my predictions for the Eastern and Western Conferences for the 2012-13 season.  I’ve also put the wins and losses I expect them to end the regular season with.  Accounting for injuries that have already occurred (i.e. Derrick Rose, Ricky Rubio, etc.) but not allowing for injuries that may occur throughout the season.  Have a look at let us know what you think!

  • Three team trade involving the New Orleans Hornets, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Phoenix Suns:
    • The Hornets receive C Robin Lopez (from Phoenix), F Hakim Warrick (from Phoenix) and cash considerations (from Minnesota)
    • The Timberwolves receive G Jermoe Dyson (from New Orleans), C Brad Miller (from New Orleans) and 3 second-round draft picks (from New Orleans)
    • The Suns receive F Wesley Johnson (from Minnesota) and a first-round draft pick (from Minnesota)

July 18 Deals

Deals that have been formally completed in the NBA on the 18th of July:

  • The Boston Celtics sign G Jason Terry, formerly of the Dallas Mavericks
  • The Brooklyn Nets have re-signed F Kris Humphries for 2 years
  • The Denver Nuggets re-sign C JaVale McGee for 4 years
  • The Los Angeles Clippers sign F Grant Hill for 2 years, formerly of the Phoenix Suns
  • The Portland Trailblazers matched the Minnesota Timberwolves’ offer sheet to G Nicolas Batum

Rumours from July 13-16

Please note that all “announcements”, “talks”, etc. are considered to be rumours until deals are completed, signed and formally accepted by the NBA.

  • The Indiana Pacers will re-sign C Roy Hibbert and G George Hill
  • The Dallas Mavericks will sign G OJ Mayo
  • Jonny Flynn is working out with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls and Atlanta Hawks
  • The Los Angeles Clippers are attempting to sign G/F Grant Hill and will re-sign G Chauncey Billups
  • The San Antonio Spurs will re-sign Australian G Patty Mills
  • Jeremy Lin has signed a three year offer sheet from the Houston Rockets. The offer sheet is worth over $25 million and will pay $5 million in the first year, $5.225 million in the second year and $14.8 million in the final year
